Thousands of people joined in the fun of the 25th annual Pride parade in Belfast on Saturday.
Organisers said they expect a bigger turnout than usual at the parade following the Yes vote in the Republic’s referendum on same-sex marriage and subsequent push for marriage equality in Northern Ireland.
Belfast Pride website says the organisers wanted the even to be “a big, positive celebration of the 25th anniversary of Belfast Pride as well a celebration of our community and our place in the city”.
Meanwhile a small group of protesters clutching placards displaying Bible verses gathered at Belfast City Hall in opposition to the event.
