Openly gay broadway star Kyle Dean Massey has joined the cast of ABC’s country music drama Nashville in a recurring role.
Massey, 33, will play Kevin Bicks, ‘one of the most successful singer-songwriters in Nashville who also happens to be openly gay.’
Described as ‘handsome, tough – “a man’s man,”‘ TV Line is already speculating that Bicks will be the new love interest of closeted Will Lexington (Chris Carmack),who belives he must hide his sexual orientation in order to be successful.
Massey just finished a run on Broadway in the title role of Pippin. His TV credits include The Good Wife, Inside Amy Schumer and Hart Of Dixie.
‘Y’all. I love this show so much. Get prepared for geeky tweets,’ he tweeted about Nashille, which returns on 4 February.
